Never been a Stern fan, and this just another in a long list of reasons why I'm not.

I used to listen and enjoy Stern while he was on free radio. Part of Howard's appeal and a large part of his success can be attributed to the fact that he can speak coherently on a large number of topics, with only the bare minimum of background knowledge. He frequently spouts opinions on things he is only vaguely familiar with or has only read about. I'm not surprised he dismisses the Dead. He is a mirror of pop culture. He is only interested in something while it is popular with the masses.
